FlexStaff is seeking an experienced RN to join our external client’s vibrant community services non-profit organization in Brooklyn, NY. This is an exceptional chance to work in their residential program, which includes supervised living, supported living, and independent living services.

Position: Registered Nurse
Location: Residential Program, Bronx, NY
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Flexible options available—35 hours per week, either 8 AM – 4 PM or 9 AM – 5 PM, with the possibility of 4 days per week with longer shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for residents.
  • Be available to respond to phone inquiries and notifications from residence staff regarding any incidents, as required by OPWDD.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a community-based health services setting, specifically working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid NYS Registered Nurse license and current registration.
  • CPR certification.
  • A valid New York State Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develops, supervises implementation of, reviews and revises each resident’s written health care plan that is developed and implemented according to instructions of a physician and assessment. 
  • Integrates therapeutic intervention techniques into programs or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences or through other informal contacts. 
  • Develops a written plan for each resident to provide nursing services as a part of total habilitation programs. 
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division. 
  • Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements
  • Conducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of individuals in each residence. 
  • Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control

The salary range for this position is $57-$63/hour
