FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for our client, a non-profit organization that provides services to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities.
Position Details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:25 PM (6.5-hour day)
- Duration: 10 months per year (183 days)
- License Requirement: New York State Physical Therapist license required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Screen, identify, and assess students with motor skill delays or disabilities.
- Diagnose physical impairments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve students’ physical functioning and mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support students’ needs.
- Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and services to enhance students’ mobility and accessibility.
- Provide education to students, families, and school staff on physical therapy topics.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings as needed.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding therapy services in schools.
