Our client is seeking a Clinical Director for  a preschool day treatment center serving children ages 3-5 with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including autism spectrum disorders. Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead a clinical program. In partnership with the Program Director, the Clinical Director will oversee all clinical services, supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the interdisciplinary team in delivering trauma-informed, child-centered care. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young children with complex needs, demonstrates strong leadership skills, and has a deep understanding of trauma-informed practices and developmental therapies.

**Must have at least 5 years of experience working with children with high needs and At least 3 years of supervisory and management experience **

Key Responsibilities: 

– Lead and oversee the clinical operations in accordance with NY State and OMH regulations, ensuring high-quality service delivery across licensed social workers, psychologists, and creative arts therapists. 

– Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency policies and electronic health records systems. 

– Provide training, supervision, and professional development for clinical staff and support staff. 

– Collaborate with educational and clinical leadership to support daily program operations and uphold the agency’s mission. 

– Facilitate weekly clinical team meetings and monthly interdisciplinary meetings including speech, occupational, and physical therapists. 

– Conduct performance evaluations and oversee supervision for clinical staff and interns/externs. 

– Ensure all contractual and regulatory compliance is met and maintain program standards. 

– Participate in the intake process for new referrals and review student progress for appropriate placements. 

– Co-facilitate caregiver support and psychoeducation groups. 

– Support or lead specialized groups and may carry a caseload as needed. 

– Supervise behavior support teams and develop policies to enhance program effectiveness. 

– Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

– Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) with current licensure in NY. 

– Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with children with high needs, including trauma, developmental disabilities, or autism spectrum disorders. 

– At least 3 years of supervisory and management experience. 

– Strong knowledge of OMH regulations and familiarity with the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) preferred. 

– Deep commitment to trauma-informed, strength-based, and attachment-based approaches. 

– Experience with behavior modification, DIR Floor time, play therapy, and sensory-based interventions a plus. 

– Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 

– Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. 

– Proficient in general computer skills and electronic health record systems.
