We are looking for a seasoned Purchasing Manager with experience working with ITAR, DFARS, and FAR regulations, to work for one of our clients, an electronics manufacturer, located in Melville, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years’ experience or Master’s degree with 6 years’ experience purchasing of electronic and electromechanical parts preferably in the RF Defense industry.
- 6+ years’ experience in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts preferably in the RF Commercial Military industry
- Experience working with ITAR, DFARS, and FAR regulations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic leadership to the manufacturing team to meet production targets. Manage a team of Buyers, fostering team chemistry and facilitating development opportunities. Review and approve purchase requisitions for accuracy, and place orders per established policies.

Interpret technical drawings for purchasing machined, sheet metal parts, PCBs, and complex assemblies. Establish reliable suppliers for quality components at reasonable prices, soliciting quotes and selecting vendors.

Oversee the purchase of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring compliance with Source Control Drawings (SCDs). Track and manage open purchase orders, expedite as necessary.

Obtain bids and issue POs for contract manufacturing services, ensuring on-time delivery and quality. Develop, analyze, and present KPIs for the purchasing department to leadership. Communicate vendor issues promptly to relevant departments, ensuring efficient collaboration across the company.
